William "Hicks" Anderson Community Center Names Dr. Tonia Perry-Conley as New Director

The William “Hicks” Anderson Community Center names Dr. Tonia Perry-Conley as new director.
Dr. Perry-Conley’s professional career experiences include more than 20 years of service in educational programming, student counseling, academic advisement, and instruction. Promoting life-skills in conjunction with academics, she has dedicated her efforts to making a difference for students and young adults in economically challenged areas.
Most recently, Dr. Perry-Conley served as director of the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement program at Delaware State University, Dover, Delaware. She successfully prepared undergraduate students for doctoral study through research involvement, and scholarly activities; producing highly competitive graduates with the skill and experiences necessary to succeed academically and professionally.
As coordinator with TRIO/Upward Bound Classic Program at the Wilmington campus of Delaware Technical and Community College, Dr. Perry-Conley provided students with the skills and motivation they needed to succeed in high school and college. Preparing students through tutoring, on-campus college experiences, college visits and cultural opportunities.
“I believe Dr. Perry-Conley has demonstrated a commitment to educational programming, student and youth development, as well as, academic guidance and counseling,” said Claude McCrea, Director of Parks and Recreation. “She will be an asset to the William ‘Hicks’ Anderson Community Center, and I look forward to collaborating with her.”
Dr. Tonia Perry-Conley is a native Delawarean from New Castle County. A graduate of Spelman College, and Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, she also holds an earned doctorate in Educational Leadership and Administration.
In the upcoming future, the William “Hicks” Anderson Community Center will be hosting an open house, so members of the community can meet Dr. Perry-Conley.
