Do you have old cans of paint or stacks of paper cluttering an attic or basement? Join the Wilmington RISE movement by bringing your waste to a hazardous waste disposal event, this coming Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

In an effort to clean our communities and help Wilmington RISE by making the City clean, safe and smart; members of the community can bring documents for shredding and hazardous material and electronic equipment for safe disposal.

The Wilmington RISE campaign was created through the vision of Mayor Dennis P. Williams and his Administration to enrich and enhance the community of Wilmington through a hands-on approach that rests on three pillars: Clean, Safe and Smart.

This disposal and shredding event is sponsored by the Delaware Solid Waste Authority and supported by the City of Wilmington, Wilmington City Council and the United Way of Delaware. The event offers local residents an easy and convenient way to dispose of hazardous materials and electronic equipment and to shred important or sensitive documents on-the-spot.

Hazardous Material/Electronic Equipment Disposal:

Document/Paper Material Shredding:

Residents participating in the shredding portion of the event are asked to please adhere to a three (3) box per household limit for documents and paper materials. Your documents will be shredded in front of you.

Please share this important information with your friends, neighbors and civic groups. This is a wonderful opportunity to clean out your basement or garage and safely dispose of materials that could be harmful to you, your family and to our environment.

The Hazardous Waste event will take place rain or shine in parking lot in back of the outfield wall at Frawley Stadium on the Wilmington Riverfront, located at 801 South Madison Street, Wilmington, Delaware.
