The DuPont® Clifford Brown Jazz Festival will celebrate its 25th Anniversary with a Silver Trumpet Reception Block Party on Friday evening from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Immediately following the Jazz Fest’s main-stage performance, the 800-900 blocks of North Market Streets will be closed to vehicle traffic and feature live entertainment by JD3 and To The Maxx under a canopy of stars and moonlight.
“The Silver Trumpet Reception is an opportunity for Festival attendees to truly celebrate the rich history of the Jazz Festival and Wilmington’s storied jazz culture,” said Ken Briscoe, Director of Communications and Cultural Affairs.
Attendees can enjoy the special, DuPont® Clifford Brown Jazz Festival prix fix menu which offers 3 courses for $35 at Chelsea Tavern or Orilla’s Tapas Bar, both located within the reception area on Market Street. Festival-goers may also visit the many on-street food vendors for other food options.
“I am looking forward to the Silver Trumpet Reception, as it will create a late night atmosphere of entertainment and energy in downtown Wilmington,” said Mayor Dennis P. Williams.
Come celebrate 25 years of jazz in downtown Wilmington block-party style and experience Market Street in a whole new light.
The event is free and open to all festival attendees.
