Dear Friends,

When I was elected Mayor in 2000, I made a pledge to residents of the City of Wilmington that I would work tirelessly to strengthen the City’s fiscal management; stabilize and strengthen neighborhoods; encourage new and expanded business development; and continue to develop the City’s riverfront district. I’m exceedingly proud of the fact that during our decade of service, my administration and the City Council helped create a period of growth and prosperity not seen in our City since World War II.

We are more determined than ever to keep Wilmington moving forward until the very last day of our administration. While we are very proud of what we’ve achieved thus far, there is still much more for us to accomplish. Together, we will continue to transform Wilmington into a world-class city—one that is truly “in the middle of it all.”
