Entrepreneur Magazine Ranks Wilmington as One of the Best Cities for Tech Start-up Companies

While Silicone Valley is heralded as the leading hub for high-tech innovation and development, Wilmington is climbing the ranks among metropolitan areas as one of the best cities in the country for tech start-up companies.
According to a report released by technology policy coalition Engine and entrepreneurship research association the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, Entrepreneur Magazine ranks Wilmington 24th among 25 cities with the highest ratio of tech start-ups compared to the national average.
The article highlights how successful tech start-up communities can generate job growth and positively impact the local economy and job market. Other cities on the list include: Boulder, Colorado; Cambridge, Massachusetts; Seattle, Washington; Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; Washington D.C.; Austin, Texas and more.
“The article in Entrepreneur Magazine highlights the thriving technology sector in Wilmington,” said Mayor Dennis P. Williams. “With the support of organizations like Start It Up Delaware, these tech start-up companies are able to find success in our local community.”
