Welcome to the outrageously entertaining 2013 Fringe Wilmington Festival scheduled for October 30 - November 3. The festival features visual, performing and cinematic artists that will take you on a journey beyond the edge.
Beyond the edge of what you might ask? The edge of your comfort zone, the edge of reason, the edge of sanity…either way you will not return the same as when you entered. Prepare to expand your mind and experience the unknown.
A new addition to the festival this year will be the Halloween Costume Ball at the Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts (200 South Madison Street on the Riverfront) on Thursday, October 31, from 9 p.m. to midnight where Fringenstein will be waiting to show you his funky dance moves. The party will feature live music by The Mooveez, flashlight gallery tours, crystal ball readings, costume contests, roaming magic and more. Admission is $10 with a cash bar inside.
Another new feature of the festival will be Cult Classics at Theatre N at Nemours (11th and Tatnall Streets) with free screenings of The Toxic Avenger on Friday November 1 and Attack of the Killer Tomatoes on Saturday November 2. Doors will open each evening at 10:30 p.m.
All of the festival favorites will be returning for the 2013 season. The Preview Party on Wednesday, October 30 will return to World Café Live at the Queen with 5-minute samples of all Fringe performances and the Extreme Filmmaking Competition will once again hold teams of filmmakers hostage while they shoot and edit a short film in 48 hours.
Mark your calendars for October 30 - November 3 and be a part of the 2013 Fringe Wilmington Festival. You WILL experience something new and exciting. Visit www.fringewilmingtonde.com for a detailed list of show times or to purchase tickets. There is a one-time $5 button purchase required to attend the festival and each individual show ticket is $5.
