Wilmington Mayor Dennis P. Williams invites everyone to donate their unwanted electronics for reuse, refurbish and recycling in support of America Recycles Day 2013. The recycling event supports the mission of the Wilmington RISE campaign, which seeks to enhance the City of Wilmington by making the community clean; safe and smart, will be held on Friday, November 15th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. along Wilmington’s Riverfront located at 1024 Justison Street, Wilmington, Delaware.
The event, which is sponsored by SSD Technology Partners; Goodwill Delaware and Delaware County; Pettinaro; Bayshore Records Management and the Better Business Bureau, will feature free electronic recycling collection and free paper shredding services. Since 2010, 46, 090 pounds or 23 tons of electronics and paper have been collected. In addition to sponsoring the event, SSD Technology Partners will donate 25 cents towards the Goodwill Scholarship Fund for every one pound of electronics collected.
“For 15 years, the country has celebrated America Recycles Day as a time to focus on conserving valuable materials, keeping communities clean, and protecting the environment,” said Mayor Williams. “As a city, we should continue to reduce, reuse and recycle throughout the year.”
