(Wilmington, DE) - The United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) is the official non-partisan organization of cities with populations of 30,000 or more. There are 1,295 such cities in the country today. Each city is represented in the Conference by its chief elected official, the mayor.

Mayor Williams attended the conference with the purpose of strengthening federal-city relationships; to learn different leadership and management techniques; and to network and connect with mayors from different areas of the country.

“This conference was incredibly helpful,” said Mayor Williams. “It’s important to have the opportunity to sit and talk with other mayors and share ideas. Talk about what works and what doesn’t work.”

Mayor Williams worked with local mayors including Michael Nutter of Philadelphia; Linda Thompson of Harrisburg; and John Linder of Chester to discuss the issues of gun violence and public safety.
