Body Recovered from Brandywine River

  • Unidentified male

Summary:

Police are investigating after the body of an unidentified male was recovered from the Brandywine River at the Washington Street Bridge.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the male was walking alone over the Washington Street Bridge when he suddenly jumped from the east side of the bridge into the Brandywine River.

Emergency crews from the Wilmington Fire Department worked for approximately 30 minutes to recover the body. The body was turned over to the Medical Examiner for further investigation.
