Police Investigate a Shooting

Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in the 100 block of East 24th Street early Saturday morning.

At approximately 3:38 a.m. officers responded to the area of East 24th and Carter Streets after receiving a 911 call reporting a shooting.

Arriving officers located a 22 year old male victim lying on the steps of a residence in the 2300 block of Carter Street. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen, arm, and hand.

An initial investigation indicates that the victim was standing in the 100 block of East 24th Street when an unknown black male approached and began shooting.

The victim, a convicted felon and probationer, was transported to Christiana Hospital by ambulance and is listed in critical condition.
