$72,000 Worth of Heroin Seized Following Vehicle Stop

Summary:

After an ongoing investigation, members of Wilmington’s Drug, Organized Crime and Vice unit arrested Linzy L. Watson and Charles M. Fax for possessing an illegal controlled substance during a traffic stop.

Thursday evening at approximately 7:45 p.m., members of the Drug, Organized Crime and Vice unit conducted a vehicle stop at the intersection of 9th and North King Streets after the operator of the vehicle, Linzy L. Watson, failed to signal. K-9 officer Corporal Erik Meese and his partner, Rex, assisted with the stop. Rex indicated the presence of illegal narcotics inside of the vehicle. Subsequently, detectives executed a search warrant on the vehicle and located 109.4 grams of heroin. The heroin is valued at $72,204.

Linzy L. Watson, who is a convicted drug offender, was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of a $50,600.00 secured bond.

Charles M. Fax, who is a convicted felon and drug offender, was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of a $25,000.00 cash bail.
