K-9 Assists Detectives with Drug Seizure

    • Driving while Suspended Revoked

Summary:
Members of Wilmington’s Firearm Squad arrested Edrick S. Jones for possessing an illegal controlled substance during a traffic stop.

Tuesday evening at approximately 8:28 p.m., members of the Drug, Organized Crime and Vice unit and Wilmington’s Firearm Squad conducted a vehicle stop in the 1600 block of Jessup Street. K-9 officer Master Corporal Joseph O’Neil and his partner, Tristen, assisted with the stop. Tristen indicated the presence of illegal narcotics inside of the vehicle. Subsequently, detectives executed a search warrant on the vehicle and located 158.9 grams of heroin, 5 grams of marijuana, and $937.75 in suspected drug money. The heroin is valued at $84,000.

Edrick S. Jones, who is a convicted drug offender, was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of a $41,500 cash bail.
