Drug Dealer Overdoses, Police Seize Stash

A drug dealer was arrested when police discovered her stash of drugs after she overdosed behind the wheel of a parked vehicle.

The incident occurred on August 16 at approximately 9:29 a.m., as police were called to assist with a medical complaint in the 1200 block of North King Street. Officer William Ball and Corporal Devin Jones found Tywanda Simmons unconscious behind the wheel of a vehicle parked in the block. While attempting to assist her, the officers detected a strong odor of marijuana and discovered 10 bags of heroin, 10 Oxycodone pills, a sandwich bag containing 14.5 grams of marijuana and $428.00 in suspected drug money. The officers then authored and executed a search warrant at Simmons’ residence, and located an additional 97.7 grams of marijuana.

Simmons was transported to Saint Francis Hospital by ambulance and released to police custody after treatment. Simmons was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 20 and released after posting $6,000 secured bond.
