Heroin Arrest Following Traffic Stop

A drug dealer was arrested after officers observed heroin bags in plain view during a traffic stop.
On September 2, 2013, Officer Darriel Tynes was on proactive patrol in the Riverside neighborhood, when he observed a group of subjects loitering. Jonathon Pieroski broke off from the group and fled into a waiting Toyota 4 Runner, which then drove off at a high rate of speed.
Officer Tynes pursued the 4 Runner and conducted a vehicle stop at West 30th and Washington Streets. Officer Neil Evans arrived to assist with the traffic stop and observed empty bags of heroin in the passenger compartment. Jonathon Pieroski was taken into custody without incident and transported to Wilmington Police Headquarters. Officers conducted a further search of Pieroski and located 13 bags of heroin in his right sock.
Pieroski was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released after posting $2,700 secured bond.
