A probationer prohibited from possessing a firearm was arrested following a traffic stop in Wilmington last night.
On November 18, 2013, at approximately 7:50 p.m., Officers Danielle Watson and Jose Vasquez attempted to stop a white BMW for driving without headlights in the 1500 block of West 4th Street.
After failing to stop for several blocks the vehicle pulled over. The officers removed the driver, 24-year-old Ronquise Pooler of Downingtown Pennsylvania, and found a loaded .40 caliber handgun under his seat.
Further investigation revealed that the firearm was reported stolen and that Pooler is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a prior felony drug conviction and his status as a probationer. Pooler also does not have a valid driver’s license.
Pooler was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 20 and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $5,601 cash bail.
