Possible Burglary Trend Noted in Browntown and South Broom Street Area

  • 1100 block South Broom Street, Wilmington, Delaware

Date of Occurrence:

  • November 4 and 6, 2013, daytime hours

Summary:

The Wilmington Department of Police has noted a possible burglary trend in the Browntown neighborhood and South Broom Street area after three residences were burglarized in a three-day period.

On November 4, a residence in the 1100 block of South Broom Street was burglarized, and on November 6 residences in the 300 block of 8th Avenue and the unit block of 9th Avenue were burglarized.

These incidents occurred during daytime hours and entry was forced through the rear of the residences.

Residents in the area are urged to remain vigilant and contact police if they note suspicious subjects or activities, such as persons traversing rear yards or carrying household electronics.
