Armed Probationer Arrested After Foot Chase

A probationer was arrested with a handgun after a foot chase last night.
On October 31, 2013, at approximately 9:20 p.m., Officers Gaetan MacNamara and Danielle Watson were on patrol in the 300 block of North Franklin Street when they observed Javier Kaminski attempting to conceal a firearm in his waistband. The officers attempted to stop Kaminski who fled on foot and discarded a loaded .40 caliber handgun. After several blocks Kaminski was taken into custody without further incident.
Kaminski is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to his status as a probationer. He was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $15,500 cash bail.
