Police Investigate Attempted Robbery

  • Saturday, December 14, 2013, at approximately 5:00 p.m.

Victim:

  • 61 year old female of Greenville, Delaware

Suspect:

  • Black male, 40 to 50 years old, 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, wearing a brown puffy coat, tinted glasses, and a hood

Summary:

Police are investigating an attempted robbery after an unknown suspect approached a female exiting her car and implied that he was armed with a gun.

The initial investigation suggests that at approximately 5:00 p.m. a 61 year old female victim parked her vehicle in the 2100 of the block of West 4th Street. As the victim attempted to exit the vehicle the suspect suddenly appeared and pushed her back into the passenger compartment. The victim again tried to exit her car and the suspect pressed an unknown object to her side and implied that he had a gun. The victim screamed and ran away and the suspect fled in an unknown direction.
The suspect is described as a Black male, 40 to 50 years old, 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, wearing a brown puffy coat, tinted glasses, and a hood.
