A group of juveniles was apprehended by officers after they robbed a Wilmington man at gunpoint Friday evening.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:34 p.m. as a 25 year old male was walking along the river walk near the 500 block of South Justison Street. A group of black male juveniles approached the victim, struck him several times and displayed a handgun. They removed his property and fled north when a witness called 911.

Officers Andrew Shaub and John Mitchell responded to the 911 call and observed a group of juveniles running north in the 400 block of North Market Street. The group fled when the officers attempted to stop them. The officers pursued the suspects on foot and took a 13 year old and a 15 year old suspect into custody in the 600 block of North Orange Street. A black pellet gun was recovered next to the 13 year old.

Assisting officers captured an additional 13 year old suspect and Jerimiah Jones, 18, of the 2100 block of North Church Street.

Defendant 1 was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center in lieu of $124,000 secured bail.

Defendant 2 was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center in lieu of $64,000 secured bail.

Defendant 3 was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center in lieu of $64,000 secured bail.

Jeremiah Jones was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $20,000 secured bail.
