Police Investigate Shooting, Robbery

Police are investigating after a male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the leg while being robbed in the 200 block of N Broom Street.

At approximately 7:10 p.m. Tuesday officers responded to the 200 block of North Broom Street after receiving a 911 call reporting a shooting. Officers located a 23 year old male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the victim was walking south in the 200 block of North Broom Street when he was approached by two Black males wearing dark clothing and bandanas covering their faces. The suspects displayed a handgun and forced the victim into a nearby alleyway where they removed his property and shot him in the left leg. The suspects then fled in an unknown direction.

The victim was transported by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in stable condition.
