Photo of Qudree WarrenThe Wilmington Police Department’s Crisis Management Tactical Team (CMTT) arrested an attempted murder suspect after he committed a home invasion early Saturday morning.

The incident occurred on February 22, 2014 at approximately 4:55 a.m. as Qudree Warren unlawfully entered an acquaintance’s home and assaulted him. During the struggle Warren displayed a Tech-9 handgun, fired several shots, and threatened to shoot the victim. Warren then restrained the victim and left him in the basement. The victim was able to untie himself, escape from the residence, and contact the police. Arriving officers established a perimeter around the residence and activated the CMTT. The CMTT entered the residence, took Qudree Warren into custody without incident, and recovered a loaded Tech-9 handgun.

Qudree Warren had existing warrants for his arrest in connection with a January double shooting in the 500 block of East 5th Street. Officers responded to the 500 block of East 5th Street on January 5th, 2014, at approximately 5:04 p.m. after receiving 9-1-1 calls reporting a shooting. Arriving officers located a 17 year old male and a 20 year old male in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to Christiana Hospital via ambulance in critical condition. Through investigative techniques detectives developed Qudree Warren as a suspect.

Warren was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 20 for his existing charges and additional charges from the home invasion incident. He was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $850,000 cash bail.
