Mayor Dennis P. Williams announces the City of Wilmington will be closed Monday, March 3, 2014 due to inclement weather and anticipated snowfall that is expected to begin later tonight. Essential personnel must still report for duty.
With the anticipation of inclement weather, the City will close in order to keep citizens safe and reduce the number of motorists on the roadways. This will also allow various City departments to safely plow and salt roadways within the City.
Motorists are advised to adjust travel plans accordingly, as driving conditions may rapidly deteriorate and become hazardous as snow falls.
The National Weather Service in Mount Holly anticipates snow accumulations of an additional 6 to 8 inches.
