Police Identify Homicide Victim

  • S1- Black Male, wearing a black hooded jacket
  • S2- Black Male, wearing a black hooded jacket

Victim:

  • Ioannis Kostikidis, 53, Townsend, Delaware

Summary:

Wilmington Police have identified Ioannis Kostikidis, 53, as the victim in Wednesday night’s homicide.

An initial investigation indicates that the victim, a security guard at the American Beauty Academy at 200 West 9th Street, was walking to his car which he routinely parked in the 600 block of Tatnall Street. He was accosted in the block by two
suspects, described as black males wearing black hooded jackets, for unknown reasons. The suspects shot the victim and fled the area.

Investigators with the Wilmington Department of Police continue to aggressively investigate this incident by conducting interviews, analyzing evidence, and reviewing surveillance footage.

The Wilmington Department of Police condemns this heinous crime and asks for the public’s assistance in providing any additional information.
