Police Investigate Vehicle Crash at 4th and Broom Streets

Summary:

Wilmington Police are investigating an accident that occurred at 4th and North Broom Streets.     

On Sunday afternoon at 2:35 p.m., Wilmington Police responded to 4th and North Broom Streets in reference to an accident involving multiple vehicles in which the occupants were injured. The investigation determined that vehicle one, a red Chevy Lumina van, was traveling westbound on West 4th Street at a high rate of speed crossing into eastbound traffic colliding with vehicle two, a green Ford Windstar, which was traveling eastbound on West 4th Street. Vehicle one became airborne and rolled several times before striking multiple parked cars on the 1400 block of West 4th Street. The occupants were trapped inside of their vehicle for approximately 40 minutes until rescue units arrived and were able to extract them.

Occupants in vehicle one and two were transported to Christiana Hospital by ambulance. The conditions of all occupants are unknown at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
