A vehicle stop for erratic driving ended in the arrest of Kasha Allen for weapons and drug charges.
Corporals Marc Henry and Bart Muziol were on uniformed patrol when they observed Kasha Allen operating a black Chrysler 200 east on West 4th Street. Allen suddenly crossed the double yellow line nearly striking the officers. The officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop but Allen refused to yield for approximately four and a half blocks before finally pulling over. Assisting Corporal Steven Cancila observed a round of ammunition inside the passenger compartment in plain view and ordered Allen to exit the vehicle. Allen refused and had to be physically removed after a brief struggle. Officers obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and recovered a loaded .380 semi-automatic handgun and 1.2 grams of marijuana.
Allen was transported to Wilmington Police Headquarters and arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 20. She was committed to Delores J Baylor Correctional Institution for Women in lieu of a $4,200 cash bail.
