Police Investigate Bomb Threat

Summary:

Wilmington police were on scene investigating a bomb threat at 801 West 18th Street, Warner Elementary School.

Police responded to the scene at approximately 10:02 a.m. after receiving a 911 call from a school administrator advising that there was a bomb threat. Upon arrival, all students and faculty members were evacuated. East and westbound motor vehicle/ pedestrian traffic were detoured at 18th and North Broom Streets and North Van Buren Street. The school was deemed safe after EOD (Explosive Ordinance Detection) and K9 units thoroughly searched the exterior and interior of the school and no explosives were located. Student and faculty returned inside of the school to resume their day. In addition, the east and west bound traffic on West 18th Street was reopened.
