City Pools Open as Temperature Rises

As the temperature warms this weekend, families and youths will be able to enjoy swimming and fun, pool activities as the City of Wilmington has opened three City pools.

Traditionally, the pools were opened later in the summer season, but beginning Memorial Day Weekend, families can swim and play at Foster Brown Pool, Prices Run Pool, and Eden Park Pool.

"Opening the pools early provides families, and young people especially, a positive place to play in the City during the spring and summer seasons,” said Mayor Dennis P. Williams.

The pools will be open on the weekends of June 1st and 2nd, as well as June 8th and 9th.

"Parks and Recreation is committed to creating opportunities where the community can engage in positive recreational and social activities," said Director of the Parks and Recreation Department, Claude McCrea. "Opening the pools for Memorial Day weekend is an example of the City's effort to offer more resources to our citizens."
