Police, Community Partnership Leads to Drug Seizure

  • Shanta C. Pipkin, 26, Black female, of the 800 block of Marshall Street, Wilmington, Delaware

    • Criminal Impersonation

    • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Summary:

After community members expressed concerns regarding a residence in the 800 block of Marshall Street, Wilmington Police’s Drug, Organized Crime Vice Unit instituted an investigation.

Early this morning the Drug, Organized Crime Vice unit concluded their investigation in the 800 block of Marshall Street as they executed a search warrant along with the Crisis Management Tactical Team (CMTT). Upon entering the residence, officers located Shanta C. Pipkin and Hassan S. Ibnamin. Pipkin was taken into custody after she attempted to deceive officers by giving them an incorrect name. Ibnamin was taken into custody after officers located 5.5 grams of marijuana in his possession. As officers searched the residence they located a 7 year old female inside of a front bedroom. While officers continued the search they seized two (2) paintball guns and drug paraphernalia. Pipkin and Ibnamin were transported to the Public Safety Building where they were arraigned.

Shanta C. Pipkin was released after she posted a $2,750 unsecured bond.

Hassan S. Ibnamin, who is a convicted felon, was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of a $6,000 secured bond.
