A Drug, Organized Crime and Vice Division investigation into drug sales in Wilmington’s west side resulted in the arrest of two females, the seizure of 546 bags of heroin, 4 grams of marijuana, $941 in cash, and a 2001 Honda Accord.

Investigators received information that Eliana Rodriguez was selling heroin from a 2001 Honda Accord parked in the 200 block of Cherry Street. An investigation confirmed that Rodriguez was conducting drug sales from this vehicle. On June 3, 2013, at approximately 11:31 p.m., investigators located Rodriguez inside the Honda Accord with a second female, Emeliza Rivera. Investigators took both defendants into custody and located 4 grams of marijuana on Rivera.

Investigators then executed a search warrant on the vehicle after K9 Tristen gave a positive indication for the presence of illegal drugs. A search of the vehicle located 546 bags of heroin and $941 in cash.

Rodriguez was charged with possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 5 quantity and loitering for drug-related activity. She was committed to Delores J. Baylor Correctional Institution in lieu of $50,000 cash bail and a $1,000 unsecured bond.

Rivera was charged with possession of marijuana and loitering for drug-related activity. She was released after posting a $750 cash bail.
