Community Complaint Leads to Drug Bust

Summary:

Police arrested Candace L. Dulin and Adam M. Hughes after responding to a 911 call regarding subjects in the area attempting to purchase drugs.

On Saturday, May 25 at approximately 7:24 p.m., Master Corporals Michael Groak and Donna DiClemente responded to the 800 block of North Jefferson Street regarding a community complaint of subjects attempting to purchase drugs. Dispatchers provided the officers with a vehicle description in which the subjects were occupying. Upon arrival, offices located the vehicle parked in the 800 block of North Jefferson Street. As officers approached the vehicle Adam Hughes was observed slouched down in the back seat attempting to avoid contact with the police. Candace Dulin, who occupied the front passenger seat, appeared nervous as her hands were noticeable shaking and her voice trembled when she spoke. When officers asked Dulin to step out of the vehicle two bags of heroin fell from her lap onto the pavement and floor of the vehicle. Both Dulin and Hughes were taken into custody without incident. During the search of the vehicle officers located 117 bags of heroin.

Candace L. Dulin was released after posting a $2,000 unsecured bond.

Adam M. Hughes, a convicted felon, was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of a $761 secured bond.
