Police Investigate Shooting

  • Suspect 2: Black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt


Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in the 200 block of Delamore Place.

Shortly after 2:00 a.m. Monday morning officers responded to the block after receiving a 911 call reporting a shooting. A short time later police were notified that the victim, a 19-year-old male, arrived at Saint Francis Hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound to the lower back.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was standing in the 200 block of Delamore Place when two black males, wearing black hooded sweatshirts, approached and asked for marijuana. When the victim denied having marijuana the suspects then demanded money instead. The victim attempted to flee and was shot by one of the suspects. The suspects then fled in an unknown direction.
