Police Investigate Vehicle Crash with Rollover

- Operator 2: Steven West, 52 , 100 block Adair Avenue, New Castle, Delaware
Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash with rollover that occurred at the intersection of North Van Buren Street and Pennsylvania Avenue.
Preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 10:00 p.m. a 2011 Honda CRV operated by Steven West, 52, was travelling east on Pennsylvania Avenue and disregarded a red light at the intersection of North Van Buren Street. A northbound Oldsmobile Alero, operated by a 17-year-old male, struck the right passenger side of the CRV at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and North Van Buren Street, causing the CRV to overturn.
The operator of the CRV was trapped in the vehicle for several minutes before members of the Wilmington Fire Department were able to free him. He was transported to Christiana Hospital by ambulance for minor injuries and is in stable condition. The operator of the Oldsmobile was also transported to Christiana Hospital by ambulance for minor injuries and is also listed in stable condition.
The intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and North Van Buren Street was closed to traffic for approximately one hour while police conducted an investigation.
