To prepare for leaf or yard waste removal…

When the City vacuum trucks are in your community to collect leaves:

  • All leaves should be swept/raked/placed in the street, next to the curb.
  • City sweeper/vacuum trucks will collect the leaves from the street.

When the City vacuum trucks are NOT in your community to collect leaves:

  • All leaves should be bagged and placed at the curb and call the Public Works Call Center at (302) 576-3878. The automated message will advise on how to schedule your yard waste pickup the day of the week in your area.
  • Please use PAPER BAGS so City yard waste collection crews can easily identify your leaves for recycling.

If you live in the City, but outside one of the scheduled pick-up areas…

  • Bag your yard waste and place it at the curb and contact the Public Works Call Center at (302) 576-3878 to request a yard waste pickup.
