The City of Wilmington is proud to present the following volunteer opportunities and activities that support the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service.
The Delaware Center for Horticulture is looking for 10 volunteers to help us move supplies and tools from our current storage area to our garage in preparation for our upcoming construction in 2014.
- Ability to lift small and large tools
- Enjoy working with other volunteers
- Like to work outdoors (dress for the weather, gloves and comfortable shoes)

Great Dames is holding THE GREAT WINTER COAT COLLECTION IV!

What we need: Consignment-quality, new or nearly-new, clean winter coats, hats, scarves, and mittens for men, women, and children.

A community service project sponsored by Great Dames, Inc. in collaboration with Wilmington Senior Center, Friendship House, United Way of Delaware, NAWBO Delaware, First Unitarian Church, and Delaware State Office of Volunteerism.
On Monday, January 20 beginning at 12:00 noon, Clara's Gifts, in partnership with R.H.D., will be distributing bagged lunches, clothing, footwear, and blankets to the homeless & hungry at two outside walk-up sites:
- Sunday Breakfast Mission, 110 North Poplar Street, Wilmington, Delaware 19801
- Bethel Villa Apartments, 506 East 5th Street, Wilmington, Delaware 19801
Coffee, tea, and bottled water will be available with the lunches. Haircuts will be offered at the two walk-up sites from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. A mobile unit will also distribute bagged lunches to various locations throughout the city at 12:00 noon.
Volunteers need to report to the location between 11:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. to assist with set-up. Contact Temeca White at (302) 602-2243.

Through fun activities, stories and crafts you’ll discover how to be a better animal ambassador! Campers must be potty trained and come dressed for the weather. Campers must bring a bag lunch and water bottle; light snack is provided. Morning drop off from 8-8:30 A.M.. Aftercare available until 5:30 P.M.
