Mayor Williams Issues Statement Regarding Saturday's Shooting in City's North Side

Wilmington Mayor Dennis Williams has issued the following statement regarding the shooting that took place on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 24th & Market Streets on the City’s North Side:
(Wilmington, DE) - Saturday night at 24th and Market Streets a shooting took place resulting in the death of one male juvenile, and sending one twenty something female to the hospital.
“I want to first convey my condolences on behalf of the City to the families of the victims of this senseless crime of violence. I want to assure the community that a thorough investigation is now underway and the Wilmington Police Department will work tirelessly to find the individual or individuals who were involved.”
“Let me also underscore that in this city violence will not be tolerated, every life is precious. My top priority is keeping our communities safe. But this is a huge task that requires all of us working together. Law enforcement cannot do it alone.”
