The City of Wilmington asks residents, civic associations, block captains, and neighborhood associations to participate in the Adopt-a-Block Program.
The Adopt-a-Block Program encourages our community to keep our city clean. Participants are expected to clean a designated area at least four times a year.
Block cleaning includes activities such as: planting trees, planning landscape projects, trash and recycling door–to-door outreach, or any other cleaning initiatives.
“The Adopt-a-Block Program helps teach our residents the importance and necessity of preserving the community and keeping our city clean,” said Mayor Dennis P. Williams. “Maintaining clean streets is one of the first steps in taking ownership of our communities.”
To obtain an application for the Adopt-a-Block Program contact Leonette Traylor, of the Office of Constituent Services, so the required application can be mailed to your residence.
