On Wednesday, March 12, 2014, Mayor Dennis P. Williams joined Ajit George, President of the MidAtlantic Wine + Food Festival, and announced that two events in the 2014 MidAtlantic Wine + Food Festival will be a part of the MasterCard Priceless Experiences and unveiled the official festival poster.
MasterCard, the official card partner of the 2014 MidAtlantic Wine + Food Festival, named the City of Wilmington as one of the cities participating in their Priceless Experiences for the New York region. Wilmington is the only City included not in New York. This will be the first time any events in the State of Delaware will be part of the MasterCard Priceless Experiences.
MasterCard’s Priceless Experiences initiative took the popular "priceless" advertising campaign and turned it into an opportunity to enjoy unique experiences in different cities around the world. The Priceless Experiences program encompasses several different categories of experiences, including culinary, sports, music and entertainment, shopping, travel, and arts and culture.
“The MidAtlantic Wine + Food Festival has become a signature event for the City of Wilmington,” said Mayor Williams. “The festival attracts visitors from up and down the East Coast and prominently showcases the City. It is a tremendous opportunity to have two festival events, in the State of Delaware and specifically in the City of Wilmington, be named MasterCard Priceless Experiences. This is an incredible honor for our City and the MidAtlantic Wine + Food Festival.”
During the event, Mayor Williams also joined MidAtlantic Wine + Food Festival to announce the winner and unveil the official poster for this year’s festival. For the second year, the festival partnered with the Delaware College of Art and Design (DCAD) for art students to participate in the official festival poster design contest. The design of DCAD student, Will Ramirez, was selected as the winner of the poster contest, and his design will be displayed throughout the entire festival.
