Mayor Williams and De-Lead Wilmington Host the 1st Annual Spring Egg Hunt

1st Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday, March 30, 2013, Mayor Dennis P. Williams and De-Lead Wilmington hosted the 1st Annual Spring Egg Hunt at the William “Hicks” Anderson Community Center.

More than 250 children had the opportunity to meet Mayor Williams and the Easter Bunny. In addition to the egg hunt, guests enjoyed moon bounces, face painting, food and gift raffles.

“This event is an excellent opportunity for my staff to show their dedication and commitment to the children and families of this great city,” said Mayor Williams.

The event also featured interactive material from Wilmington De-Lead, a program that offers a free lead-based paint risk assessment to City of Wilmington residents. To be eligible for the De-Lead program, one must live in a home that was built before 1978 within the City of Wilmington, and have children who are 6 years of age or younger. Women who are expecting are also eligible to participate in De-Lead.

The Spring Egg Hunt also included presentations from Beautiful Gate, G.A.P. (A Guided Approach to Positivity), Nemours Health and Prevention Services, Recycle Bank and the Wilmington Fire Department.
